General Ledger

The General Ledger is the heart of the Accounting System. The format of the Account Number can be broken into three segments to support divisional and activity reporting.

Three years of Budgets (last, this and next year) can be maintained and there are a number of useful tools to help with the construction of a budget, or it may be imported from a spreadsheet.

Journals

Vision allows Journals to and between the various ledgers. When you journal to a subsidiary ledger, the control account posting is auto-generated for you. Journals to the previous financial year to income and expense accounts will generate the appropriate year end journal to retained earnings.

There is also a facility for standing journals and recuring payments to be entered, which can be processed and reversed with a single process. This helps ensure consistency and reduces data entry error.

Foreign Currency

Sybiz Vision has excellent support for Foreign Currency Transactions, and Foreign Currency Bank Accounts, and will allow reconciliation of FX Banks in the Foreign Currency. Both Realised and Unrealised gains and losses are tracked correctly, and Bank Fees are picked up in the finalisation of FX transactions.

Reporting

An substantial range of Reports for the General Ledger are provided including standard Financials including Cash Book, Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss and Trial Balance. This list can be augmented with a range of additional reports as required. Customised reports tailored to your specific needs are added to the list of standard program reports and can be run from inside the application.

The Roll Up Reporting Feature (which Sybiz uses in preference to Header Accounts) allows for better report generation for Departmental and Activity reporting as required.

The Report Sets Functionality allows you to set up a range of reports to be run as a batch either at scheduled intervals or at a single command. These can be to a printer, and email address or to a specified directory in one of a number of formats including PDF and MS Excel.
